National Day of Action Against Bullying & Violence and Harmony Day were acknowledged across our school today with a free dress day adding to the awareness raising. In classroom students were engaged in a range of activities aimed and building knowledge and understanding in these important issues.
In a nutshell, bullying is never ok and it is important that we teach content that gives our students this message. Resilience also ties in with this and once again this is an important part of our teaching.
In regard to Harmony Day, our school is quite culturally diverse with more than twenty countries represented as the birth place of either students or their parents. Miss Hansen and many of the students are presently working on an exciting visual display that will be displayed in our breezeway in the near future.
