Teams of Year 5 and Year 6 students from schools in our district yesterday took part in the Regional Wonder of Science Conference that was held in our Hall. Year 6 students presented their seismometer which shows how earthquakes are measured. Year 5 students created and presented a periscope that demonstrates how light is used. Teams each had to present then watch as another team presented and then ask relevant questions. They also took part in workshops with the Young Science Ambassadors, conducting Chemistry and Physics experiments.
Congratulations to our 5B team of Campbell, Miley and Jess on winning the Year 5 category. Two other teams from our school were placed second and third. Congratulations 5A and 5D. In the Year 6 category, there was one point between first and third with our 6A team being placed second.
Well done to all students who took part in the Regional Conference. Our Year 5 team will now be competing at the State Conference in Brisbane during Term 4.
