The Dalby South P&C are working on raising funds for our new Outdoor Learning Area which will include a Sensory Garden. The aim of a sensory garden is to heighten our
awareness of our interaction with nature through our senses. We are particularly
looking at integrating sight, hearing, smell and touch in our project.
Our P&C Executive together with Mr David Kucks (Principal) and Mrs Suanne Santsingh (Head of Curriculum) met with a landscaper in early August 2021 to put ideas together for a concept drawing (PDF 2MB) of the entire project. Mrs Jen Tunley, our P&C President has noted: "This area will give students and staff another amazing learning area within our school."
Stage 1 is already complete with paving and shade sail in front of the SEP building. Stages 2 and 3 are the creation of a Sensory Garden that includes a yarning circle, music wall and bridge.
Currently we are putting the money from recycled bottles, cans and poppers towards this project. If you would like to contribute you can either use the P&C code C10262819 or drop your bags (please made sure there are no lids, straws still on containers) of bottles and cans (no plain milk containers please) to the office.
We look forward to seeing this space develop over the next few months.
