The enrichment program at Dalby South State School caters for students in years 4 to 6 identified through their school based report cards and other testing as potentially benefiting from extra stimulus opportunities. These students generally need to attain at least 3 'A' standards of achievement across the curriculum areas of English, Mathematics, Science, Geography, History. Depending on the topic for Enrichment there may also be some other qualifying standards.
All enrichment participants are expected to maintain their class work and curriculum standards to remain in the Enrichment program. The participants are reselected each semester. This process involves the Enrichment teacher and one of the Deputy Principals discussing the achievement levels of the participants in the Enrichment program and the classroom teacher from the previous semester.
The Dalby South State School Enrichment program changes throughout the year and from one year to the next, but all projects are intended to extend classroom learning. In 2019 the Enrichment program will be continuing to encompass both individual/team projects and challenges in order to optimise students full learning potential. Some Enrichment topics may also incur a small cost to parents. This will be outlined in a note sent home with the program offer. All Enrichment program students are encouraged to think outside of the box and take risks.
