Each year
students in the 10 -12 years age groups and 9 -12 years in the case of swimming
and athletics, have the chance to nominate or be nominated to Bunya Zone. For swimming,
cross country and athletics these nominations come from the school carnivals.
In the case of some other sports, nominations can be generated from students
and their parents. Students must at all times adhere to the nomination requirements
set by the manager of that sport and all forms must be completed. In all cases,
there is a behaviour requirement for students.
For
students who are selected to represent Bunya Zone, there will also be a
requirement to pay the nomination fee and return forms to our school office by
a set date. Bunya Zone shirts are not available from our school office and must
be purchased from the office of Dalby State School.
Students then have the chance to move onto representing Darling Downs Region and Queensland. Many students from Dalby South gain representative honours at the zone and regional level with a number of students being part of State teams.
