Sports Carnivals

Each year the following Dalby South sports carnivals are held:

Junior Swimming Carnival - Prep-Year 3. Held in November at Dalby Aquatic Centre. This carnival has a wide range of events that allow all students to participate. (Tuesday 19 November 2024)
Senior Swimming Carnival (9-12 years) Years 4-6 plus students turning 9 years in Year 3 who qualify to swim the Championship events only. Held in February at Dalby Aquatic Centre. (Tuesday 6 February 2024)
Cross Country – whole school event. Held end of Term 1 at Dalby Cricket/AFL grounds. Distances vary depending on age group. (Tuesday 23 April 2024)
Junior Athletics Carnival - Prep - Year 3. Held on our oval mid-year. This carnival has a wide range of events that allow all students to participate; a great half day of fun Athletics events. (Tuesday 11 June 2024 )
Senior Athletics Carnival (9-12 years) Year 4-6 plus students turning 9 years in Year 3 who have qualified for Championship events. Over the two days of the carnival the following events are held: field events – long jump, high jump, discus and shot put; track events – 800m, 200m and sprint; March Past and ball games. All students 9-12 years participate in the sprint heats and there are both championship and non-championship sections for field events. The March Past is a whole school event and students wear their house colours. Held in Term 2 on the Dalby South oval. (Tuesday 18 & Wednesday 19 June 2024)

These sports carnivals are an integral part of school life and parents are most welcome to attend.

Students (10y-12y and 9y for Swimming and Athletics) are selected from the Senior Swimming Carnival, Cross Country and Senior Athletics Carnival to compete at Bunya Zone Carnivals and Trials.
