Dalby South State School has a Learning Engagement Team (LET) which is led by our Deputy Principals. Members of team (e.g. Support Teachers, Guidance Officer, Speech Language Pathologist, Social Worker) work collaboratively to: · Assist class teachers in identifying and assessing children with learning difficulties and specialist education needs
· Work collaboratively with class teachers, students and parents to improve student learning where identified difficulty occurs
· Support professional development programs and influence teaching practices.
The Learning Engagement Team meets weekly to fortnightly and discusses how individual students with particular needs can be most effectively supported. A student who is experiencing difficulties can be referred to this team through/by their classroom teacher. Parent consultation occurs prior to this referral being made.
Parents with concerns about their child's progress are encouraged to speak with their child's classroom teacher.
