Honouring Our Everyday Heroes – First Responders Day
Recently, Dalby South State School proudly celebrated First Responders Day, a special initiative led by our Student Council. The event was a huge success, with students across the school dressing up to show their appreciation and support for our community's emergency service workers.
We were thrilled to have representatives from all major emergency services visit the school, including Police, Paramedics, Nurses, and Firefighters. A highlight of the day was the visit from several police officers who took the time to talk with students, answer questions, and accept personal thanks from our school community.
To further show our appreciation, our visiting police officers were invited back to our next school Parade where they were formally presented with handwritten letters and notes of gratitude from our students. It was heartwarming to see so many officers return to accept these tokens of thanks—and to see the pride on our students' faces as they honoured those who work every day to keep us safe.
A big congratulations to our Student Council for organising such a meaningful and memorable event. It was a fantastic reminder of the importance of community, gratitude, and service.
