The Dalby South State School ECDP (Early Childhood Developmental Program) is an Education Queensland facility which provides school based programs and services for young children prior to prep (0-5) with a low incidence disability.
What is the purpose of the Early Childhood Developmental Program?
The Early Childhood Developmental Program (ECDP) provides an early special education program for very young children with a disability or suspected disability in one or more of the following areas:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Hearing Impairment
- Physical Impairment
- Intellectual Impairment
- Vision Impairment
- Speech Language Impairment
The aim of the program is to enable:
- Engagement in a wide variety of learning experiences to maximise their individual potential;
- Assessment of educational support needs for prior to prep age children;
- Transition support to Prep; and
- Establishment of partnerships with families to ensure quality educational outcomes in the critical early years of schooling.
How can my child access the Early Childhood Development Program?
The process of determining eligibility for access to the Early Childhood Development Program and Services include consideration of all information gathered during the initial data collection process. Information collected during consultation with parents and from referral agencies are collated in an application sent to the Regional Education Office for approval.
